Our services
Each service says who it helps, how sessions run, the method, what it is not, and how it is paid.
Individual therapy
For adults who binge eat and feel stuck in a loop of rules, bingeing and shame. Sessions are 50 minutes and start with what is happening now: when it happens, what comes before, and what you need afterward.
Method: CBT-E, a cognitive behavioral treatment developed for eating problems
Not a diet: no weighing, counting or meal plans from the therapist
Dr. Wakefield sets the pace with you, with no promised number of sessions
Paid out of network; see How fees work

Working with a dietitian
For people who want help with the food itself: regular meals, hunger and fullness, and eating without rules. The registered dietitian partner has her own practice and her own fees.
Method: nutrition counseling that does not use weight goals
Not a diet plan, and not a substitute for therapy
She and Dr. Wakefield talk only with your written permission
Billed by her practice; plans often cover less than for therapy

Skills for hard moments
For the minutes before a binge, when the urge is loud. We practice noticing it, pausing, and having something to do with the feeling, in session and between sessions.
Method: DBT-informed skills, such as urge surfing and distress tolerance
Not a promise that urges stop
Practiced at your pace, with no homework you did not agree to
Paid out of network; see How fees work

Body image and self-trust
For people whose thoughts about shape and weight run the day. We look at where those thoughts came from and what they ask of you, with no goal of changing your body.
Method: cognitive behavioral work on body image
Not a program to change how you look
Alongside, not instead of, your regular medical care
Paid out of network; see How fees work

Coordinating your care
For people who see a doctor, a prescriber or another clinician. With your written permission, Dr. Wakefield shares what helps. If outpatient therapy may not be enough, she says so and helps you find a higher level of care.
Method: shared care, with your permission in writing
Not an emergency service; see Crisis and resources
Your doctor stays your doctor
