What to expect
Your first session
The first session is 50 minutes. Dr. Wakefield sets the pace with you, so it is a place to begin, not a test.
- 01
Step 1: Before you begin
You get the fee in writing and a link to the intake forms on the practice's portal. Please do not send medical details through this website.
- 02
Step 2: In the room
Dr. Wakefield asks what you want from the work and how eating fits into your life now. You choose what to share. She explains the method and what it asks of you, and you decide whether to go on.
- 03
Step 3: What we do not do
Nothing is weighed, measured or counted. You are not asked for a food log or handed a meal plan, and no food is called good or bad.
- 04
Step 4: Where you leave it
You leave knowing what the next step would be, if you want one. If the dietitian partner would help, Dr. Wakefield explains how that works and asks your permission before she speaks with her.
Questions
About the first session
01Do I have to talk about everything?
No. You decide what to share, and when. Many first sessions are about pace and what you want from the work.
02What if I binged this week?
Say so if you want to, or do not. Dr. Wakefield will not grade your week. The work starts from where you are.
03What if it is not a fit?
Then Dr. Wakefield will say so and help you look for someone who is.
